Zari, gota and mirror work all appear across the range. You can adjust colour, sleeves and neckline within the limits of the design, and every piece is cut to your confirmed measurements. Bridal Traditions Across India

There is no single Indian bridal dress. Brides in the north most often wear a lehenga. In much of the south the silk saree leads, and Kanchipuram silk is worn as the bridal sari across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states. A Bengali bride traditionally wears a red Benarasi silk sari. Many Gujarati brides wear the panetar, a white sari with a red border often gifted by the bride’s maternal uncle, together with the gharchola, a red tie-dye sari from the groom’s family. Red, Pastels and Everything Between

Red is the traditional choice for many Hindu brides, and the V&A notes it is thought to signal success and prosperity. In recent years, many brides, including several Bollywood actors, have chosen pale pink, ivory or beige instead. Neither is out of date. Zari, Zardozi, Gota and Mirror Work

  • Zari: the metallic thread itself.
  • Zardozi: embroidery worked with that thread, often raised and dense.
  • Gota: a metallic ribbon laid onto the fabric. Jaipur is its centre, and it belonged to Rajput and Sikh bridal trousseaus.
  • Mirror work: small mirrors stitched in place, most common in north-west India, with Kutch in Gujarat a particularly rich source.

Nothing is cut until you order. We work to the figures you submit and confirm, and any change needing more material or labour is quoted for your approval first. While the workshop has it, progress photos, close-up clips and an embroidery sample are all available on request. A final quality check is recorded on video before dispatch.

Yes. Our bridal sarees are made to measure, with the blouse cut to your figures.

What should our families wear?

Point them to our Indian wedding guest dresses. Guest wear is stitched from ready fabric and ships on a shorter timeline than bridal pieces.
