About Ammara Khan

Ammara Khan is a Lahore couture label, established in 2002, with bridal wear at the centre of its business. Its recent bridal lines favour scarlet, vermilion, rust and antique gold, the classic Baraat palette. Red dominates. A smaller group in peach, blush and mint serves brides who want gentler colour. Formals, velvets and luxury pret complete the range.

Signature Silhouettes: Farshi Gharara, Peshwas and Lehnga

The farshi gharara is the shape most brides link with this label. It pools on the floor, sometimes finished with a velvet appliqué hem, and some ghararas carry raised 3D tilla florals. Over it sits a front-open peshwas worked in zardozi and dabka, with chatta patti, pearls and French knots filling the gaps between larger motifs. A lehnga choli with a scalloped dupatta is the other recurring cut. In deep red, it doubles as a fitting Baraat outfit for brides who prefer a lehnga to a gharara.
