About Shazia Kiyani

In 2008, Shazia Kiyani opened her studio in Islamabad, and two Lahore outlets followed. Bridal wear sits at the centre, with a dedicated Nikkah range, sarees, pret and menswear such as sherwanis and prince coats. Kaftans extend the range. The label describes its work as modern tailoring built on traditional technique.

Signature Silhouettes: Farshi Lehenga, Gown over Tissue and Peshwas

A farshi lehenga with a straight shirt is the shape to note. A voluminous lehenga with a cropped choli, a long gown trailing over tissue and a peshwas complete the bridal set. Red leads. Latticework and jaal come straight from Mughal miniatures and palace screens, and gold constellation motifs recur. One recent piece combined nine embroidery techniques: expect zardozi, kora, marori, tilla, tambour and ari, with glass beads and cutwork. Tangerine with shocking pink offers a bolder pairing. Nikkah pieces soften into off-white, ice blue and peach, often as an anarkali or ghagra. Our Nikkah dresses follow that gentler palette.
