Guests often choose them for a Walima dinner, a reception or an evening function. The Saree in Pakistani Wedding Wear

The saree faded as everyday wear in Pakistan in the 1980s, but it kept its place at weddings. Karachi even produces its own. Dawn reported in 2016 that embroidered and hand-woven Banarasi saris made in the city’s Orangi Town were still favoured wedding wear for many Pakistani women. In December 2024, The Express Tribune called it the year of the saree and said people at that season’s weddings were leaning towards it more than ever. Labels now place sarees in their formal and couture edits.

Fabrics, Blouses and Embellishment

  • Drape: chiffon falls close to the body, organza holds a crisper line, and net lets the embroidery show through a sheer ground.
  • Blouse: raw silk, organza, chiffon or velvet, with half or full sleeves that are often embroidered.
  • Petticoat: raw silk or cotton satin.
  • Work: sequins, tilla, 3D flowers and diamanté, all of which catch the light at an evening reception.

Blouse Stitching and Fit

The blouse decides how the whole saree sits. We stitch it from your measurements or a standard size. Neckline, sleeve length and lining can change at no cost where the fabric allows, and the delivery time stays the same. The label’s colour and embroidery are kept as released.
