Farshi Shalwar Suits: Buy with Short and Long Kameez
A farshi shalwar suit starts with one choice: a short kameez that shows the full width of the shalwar as it falls to the floor, or a long kameez that covers it and lets only the hem show. The shalwar itself is wide from the waist and long enough to sweep the floor, without the knee seam of a gharara. Shadi Dress stitches every suit in its own workshops after you order, in Small to Extra Large or a Customized Size, and your height sets the hem. Choose a design and size, then order on the product page.

Fabric that falls well to the floor
A floor-length shalwar needs a fabric that drapes. Soft silks and raw silk fall in heavy, even folds, chiffon in light, fluid ones, and all of them swing as you walk; crisp organza stands away from the leg and adds volume. Keep the kameez and dupatta in step with the shalwar: a light dupatta in chiffon or net lets the width of the legs stay the focus.
Other floor-length cuts
A farshi gharara is fitted to the knee, then flares from a gathered joint, the bridal cousin of this look; see our bridal ghararas cut to the floor. A farshi lehenga is a single full skirt under a long shirt, in our farshi lehengas for brides. For straight, palazzo and Patiala bottoms, go back to all shalwar kameez and Pakistani suits.
Length, shoes and winter boots
Plan the hem for the shoes you will wear inside, not the boots you arrive in: heels lift it, flats let it pool. A hem that just skims the floor is easier on stairs and on the dance floor. With a Customized Size, send the length from waist to floor in those shoes; our team contacts you after you order to confirm the measurements.
